Specialist Leader of Education - Anna Woodman

My passion is teaching and learning.

I have over 20 year's experience of teaching children, working in various roles across key stages and phases, supporting ITT, newly qualified teachers, middle leaders and aspiring senior leaders by working alongside them, observing practice and developing their skills in order to have the best outcomes for their children's learning and their own professional development.

As Assistant Headteacher, I lead T&L, staff performance, appraisal and CPD at Lavington School, developing their thinking about their pedagogy and practice, supporting them as they take on roles of wider responsibility throughout the school, including middle and senior leadership.

From January 2020, I will be seconded to Chirton Primary School as Headteacher, as part of the EQUA MAT partnership.

My SLE specialisms are:

  • Supporting ITT, NQTs (and their mentors) through the Induction process and professional studies into their first year of teaching
  • Leading the development of Technology across key stages including food science and nutrition at KS4&5

  • Leading learning and teaching through evidence informed practice and action research

  • Coaching and mentoring

  • Teaching to the top - challenge for all

  • Leading and managing change
